Dalewood’s Head Teaching Professional, PGA of Canada Class A Professional
Brad has been a proud member of Dalewood Golf Club since he qualified for his first junior tour at 13 years of age. Over the next 5 years, Brad represented Dalewood on both the provincial, national & international level. He attended Eastern Michigan University where he competed at the Division I level while completing a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications & Marketing. After graduating in the Spring of 2004, Brad played on the Great Lakes Tour before qualifying for the Canadian Tour (now known as the PGA Tour of Canada) where he played 3 years (2005-2007) with full exempt status, traveling through North America & Mexico. In 2008 & 2009, Brad traveled through the Northern US playing on the Dakotas Tour before coming back to the Port Hope/Coburg area in 2010 to start teaching & coaching.Brad has completed his Teaching & Coaching Certification Program (Level 1 – Instruction of Beginner Golfers & Level 2 – Instruction of Intermediate Golfers) through the PGA of Canada. He has been working actively with Paragolf Ontario athletes prior to obtaining certification. Brad created & has successfully instructed our women’s Chip N Sip, children’s Wee Golf & our Summer Jr Camp since the onset of these programs at Dalewood.
Dane Mackenzie
Dalewood’s Associate Professional, PGA of Canada Class A Professional
Dane Mackenzie is a Class A Golf Professional Member of the P.G.A. of Canada and is entering his 1st year as part of the Dalewood family. Dane has dedicated the last 17 years of his career as a Teaching Professional & Junior Golf Development Coach. He spent the first 7 years of his Career at Cardinal Golf Club in Newmarket Ontario. As one of the first trained Junior Development Coaches in Canada Dane played an integral role in Implementing one of the First Golf Development Centers in Ontario at Cardinal Golf Club.In 2014 Dane took on the role of Head Teaching Professional and Director of Golf at Carman Creek Golf Club in Fredericton New Brunswick. During his tenure at Carman Creek, he was able to grow Golf Academy participation by over 400%.
Initially graduating from Georgian College, Orillia Campus, with a Professional Golf Management degree, he continued his education by attending some of the largest teaching summits hosted by the P.G.A of Canada. Dane brings a vast amount of teaching experience and knowledge to the Golf Club and his students.
Dane is the great grandson of “Redvers Mackenzie”, a top golf instructor in Canada for 35 years and a past President of the P.G.A of Canada. In a Stroke play match, his great grandfather (Red Mackenzie) defeated Walter Hagen with an Albatross on the 18th hole. It is safe to say the gift of golf is in Dane’s blood. During the 2020 Golf Season Dane was able to follow in his Great Grandfathers steps as he achieved an Albatross on the 534-yard par 5 Hole # 6 at Kingswood Resort in Fredericton New Brunswick.
Dane’s teaching style focuses on solid fundamentals and simplifying the game for his students while providing a fun and relaxed learning environment. Implementing his simplifying methodology, Dane guarantees he can make you enjoy the game of golf more than you ever have before.

Karsen Gunter
Dalewood’s Apprentice Professional, PGA of Canada Apprentice Professional
Karsen is entering his first year as an Apprentice Professional with the PGA of Ontario. He has been a part of the Dalewood team for multiple seasons and has recently decided to take the next step. With a passion for the game, he looks to bring valuable playing experience and knowledge to help engage and support junior players with the programs offered at Dalewood.
Not only does Karsen have the dedication and passion for the game of golf, he also has the mental toughness and grit required to be successful. He has competed at the provincial level in many events as well as carrying a successful resume on the Durham Junior Golf Tour including winning the 2019 season, Butler Cup. Karsen also holds the title of the 2023 Dalewood Men’s Club Champion as well as etching his name on other club championships over the years as a junior player.
Karsen is looking forward to beginning his teaching career with the goal to help you develop any desired area of your game.
